James E. Sandy

Bishop

In 1972, Bishop James Sandy and his wife Patricia came to DeSoto County to plant an Apostolic church. Then-Pastor Sandy held the Heritage’s first services in an auction building at Bullfrog Corner in Horn Lake. God used Bishop Sandy to lead the church through 45 years of growth and revival, moving the church to Stateline Road in Southaven and eventually to its current location at 6100 Elmore Road. In 2017, Bishop Sandy retired, passing the pastorate on to Rev. Nathaniel Urshan.

Bishop Sandy is still actively involved in ministry at Heritage. His steady, consistent leadership is still a blessing to the congregation of Heritage and the surrounding area.

Bishop Sandy holds a degree from Texas Bible College in Lufkin, Texas.
